When selecting an LED corn light, it’s important to consider both wattage and lumens, especially when replacing traditional HID lamps such as metal halide (MH) or HPS.
As a general guideline, you can use the following HID-to-LED replacement ranges:
- 250W Metal Halide → 80–100W LED corn light
- 400W Metal Halide → 120–150W LED corn light
- 1000W Metal Halide → 300–400W LED corn light
However, wattage alone does not tell the full story. Lumens measure the actual light output, and should always be the primary factor when choosing an LED corn light.
Always choose based on lumens, not watts.
Check the lumen output of your existing fixture and select an LED corn light with comparable or higher lumens to ensure proper brightness for your application.
